"The Passing the Baton workshop was a phenomenal experience for our teachers. One 30-year veteran teacher said this was the best teacher in-service she has ever attended: 'It rekindled the fire I had as a new teacher.' Other teachers made similar comments. We continue to see great enthusiasm for having a life-on-life influence on students. Our teachers are intentionally mentoring students and the students are being changed. Recently, a Spiritual Formation Audit demonstrated that what the teachers learned in the Passing the Baton workshop has affected students powerfully. One student said, 'Our teachers serve as caring role models and mentors by involving themselves in the lives of their students and modeling a Christian lifestyle.' Another student said, 'It's not the head knowledge that I gained but the example of life that teachers provided for me. Others that did not attend Christian schools cannot understand the love and attention that staff like those at NRCA provide for their students.' I would highly recommend the Passing the Baton workshop to any school or church that wants to unite the hearts of the older and younger generations and pass the baton of faithfulness."
Dr. S. L. Sherrill, Superintendent, North Raleigh Christian Academy, Raleigh, NC
"This was the most productive, informative, and inspiring in-service we have had in my ten years at Christian Heritage School. One teacher went home and shared what she had learned with her husband. They turned of the TV and spent the evening speaking of Christ. Another teacher walked into the office of an administrator to tell her how it had impacted him. They both ended up on their knees interceding for each other and the school You could feel the difference in the spiritual atmosphere at the start of the school!"
Renny Scott, Headmaster, Christian Heritage School, Dalton, GA
"One of the key reasons for the successful start to this school year was our faculty's participation in the Passing the Baton workshop. One of our senior faculty members told me this was the finest workshop he had participated in since coming to Bryan. Passing the Baton enabled our faculty to understand the uniqueness of our times, our students, and our biblical responsibility to mentor the next generation of leaders…Without a doubt this is the most effective mentoring program I know of that meets such a critical need of our faculty, students, and our generation!"
Stephen D. Livesay, Ph.D., President, Bryan College, Dayton, TN
"This was a life-changing workshop. The teachers left the seminar motivated and challenged. The goals and plans that were created then are being implemented this year and have had dramatic results in the lives of students."
Cynthia G. Greer, Administrator, Westbrook Christian School, Rainbow City, AL
"The response to the Passing the Baton seminar was overwhelmingly positive. Our people were greatly blessed and encouraged in their ministry here at the Christian school. I highly recommend this program. The faculty and staff here have provided many positive comments regarding the impact of this workshop on their lives."
Robert White, Superintendent, Tacoma Baptist Schools, Tacoma, WA
"The Passing the Baton workshop was just excellent for my teachers. They not only learned great things about the discipleship process, they were encouraged because they were honored and validated for the great job they do as mentors and change agents in our culture through their work at the Christian school…I would recommend that all Christian schools set up this in-service for teachers and then keep it fresh with follow-up meetings throughout the year."
